How It Works
Four steps, no branch visit, no faxing. Nothing is owed until you sign an agreement that lists every dollar of cost.
Four steps, no branch visit and no faxing. Most applicants finish in a single sitting, and nothing is owed until you e-sign an agreement that lists every dollar of cost.
1. Apply online, about five minutes
You will be asked for your name, address, date of birth, Social Security number or ITIN, income details and the checking account you want the funds paid into. The form saves as you go and works on any phone. There is no application fee and no charge for checking your rate.
2. Decision, usually within minutes
We verify your identity and income electronically, in most cases through a secure read-only connection to your bank that needs no documents from you. Checking your rate uses a soft inquiry, which does not affect your FICO® score. We weigh four things: your income, your existing monthly commitments, your banking history and your credit report.
3. Review and e-sign
Your offer is a full disclosure, not a summary. It shows:
- The amount you would receive, after any origination fee
- The APR, and the finance charge in dollars
- Every payment date and payment amount
- The total of payments over the life of the loan
- Late and returned payment fees, and the consequences of non-payment
Take as long as you need. Nothing is owed and no hard inquiry is made unless you accept.
4. Funding
| If you e-sign… | Funds are sent… |
|---|---|
| Before 11:00 a.m. ET on a business day | The same business day |
| After 11:00 a.m. ET on a business day | The next business day |
| At a weekend or on a holiday | The next business day |
Funds go by ACH to your checking account, or to your debit card where your issuer supports instant funding. When the deposit posts is controlled by your bank, which can be within hours or the following morning.
5. Repayment
Payments are drafted automatically on the dates in your agreement, matched to your pay cycle. You can pay extra or settle in full at any time with no prepayment penalty, and interest stops accruing the day the balance reaches zero. If a payment is going to be difficult, contact us before the due date: see trouble paying.

If we cannot approve you

Frequently asked questions
How long does the application take?
About five minutes. Most applicants receive a decision within minutes because identity and income are verified electronically, usually with no documents required.
When will I receive the money?
Funds are sent the same business day if you e-sign before 11:00 a.m. ET, otherwise the next business day. Your bank controls when the deposit posts, which can be within hours or the following morning.
Does applying affect my credit score?
Checking your rate uses a soft inquiry that does not affect your FICO score. A hard inquiry may occur only if you accept a personal loan offer, and we tell you before that happens.
What documents do I need?
Usually none, because income is verified through a secure read-only connection to your bank. If we do need more, a recent pay stub, bank statement, benefits letter or photo ID is normally enough.
What happens if I am declined?
You receive an adverse action notice explaining the specific reason and can reapply after 30 days. Common reasons are income below our minimum, a very new checking account, an existing open loan with us, or living in a state we do not serve.
Borrow $200 to $5,000 for any purpose
